This week was Women in Engineering Day. But we’re not just celebrating, we’re inviting.
On December 4th, 100 people will be honoured in London as part of the GREAT 100 Awards — changemakers in British manufacturing and engineering who are not just talking about progress, but building it.
We want the women in our network to be among them.
From the shop floor to the boardroom, women are driving sustainability, developing young talent, strengthening supply chains and advocating for the future of British industry. Many of them are members of this very group.
Yet too often, they don’t put themselves forward. This is your nudge. Or if you know one — your moment to nominate her.
Why women? Why now?
Earlier this year, I attended an Artificial Intelligence programme at MIT. One lesson stood out:
“The most intelligent groups aren’t the ones with the highest average IQ. They’re the ones with greater social sensitivity — and more women.”
In other words: what makes a group smart isn’t who talks loudest — it’s who listens, who builds, and who collaborates. That’s what women bring. And it’s why they belong at the forefront of British manufacturing’s future.

Resilience Drivers – the planners and operators building back stronger.

Sustainability Champions – the engineers creating long-term value.
